Enhancing Environmental Experience

Murou Art Forest, Nara, Japan

A place: when and where we enter and where we go to remember….

Leading us maybe to a memorial “plaza” with ashes:

Cherry Blossom Garden, outside Tokyo

…and maybe a place to rest, a bit away:

Tamina Thermal Baths, Bad Ragaz, Switzerland

…and we can re-engage in a shared, inspired space:

Reunification Monument, Yaounde, Cameroon

…as we exit, we might walk alongside beautiful green columbarium walls:Image

…another possible design for a “living” columbarium:

Office Building moss garden, Tokyo

The ideas and thoughts are here:  we can have all the modern thinking about urban environments applied directly to memorial spaces. The thinking is about creating and enhancing environmental experience, personal experience. There is a dearth of that now: we need more, and right away. There are many exciting choices to come!

  1. It would be nice if you’d tell us where your photos were taken.
